Lab Diamonds have really disrupted the entire diamond business. This stone is a perfect example.
It's a lovely I color... maybe even J (in my opinion - more on that in a minute)...
In the old days, (last year, and forever before that) diamonds with a slight yellow tint traded at prices far lower than colorless diamonds.
The entire psychology of pricing was based on things like color and clarity. Less color = better. Unless we're talking about fancy colored diamonds - another story entirely.
So, growing a colorless diamond is the goal when people are manufacturing Lab grown diamonds.
When we first started selling lab diamonds... way back in 2020, the technology wasn't as advanced so stones below F color were more common.
Most of those had unnatural looking tints - grey is common.
This diamond is very special, because it has a lovely soft yellow tinge - just like a diamond mined from the earth.
About the color grade: IGI has been great - usually pretty spot on in terms of color/clarity - in this particular case, I think they missed the mark. That makes this stone pretty rare!
The cut is just so - antique style cushion - lots of rainbow flashes!!
