have you ever wondered why old cut diamonds are hard to find on the market?
They are lovely to say the least. The reason you don't see higher color higher clarity old cut diamonds around anymore, is because they get recut for financial reasons.
J color SI1 in this size, it doesn't really make sense to recut.
It is my opinion, after examining the diamond, that it is actually an old cut diamond. Possibly from an estate, that just happened to survive intact.
I'm grateful personally. Mainly because it's a beautiful example of the breed. It's not exactly symmetrical, nor does it need to be.
It's got gobs of personality, it's very lively, and it looks quite large for 1.36 ct.

Halo Diamond Setting

The idea was to make a setting, that compliments the unique nature of this diamond.

I really do like the results here. The personality of the ring certainly is in keeping with the diamond. The execution is top-notch. The finish, beautiful.

The detail work is very nice here.
