How much will my new diamond appraise for? | Fancy Colored diamonds play by different rules than colorless. For example, when pricing a colorless diamond a D/VVS1 is worth a lot more than a D/SI1- by virtue of that fact ( the clarity difference). In fancy colored diamonds, the color is more important. So a Fancy Intense Yellow SI1 can go for more than a FIY VVS1, if the color is nicer. There is one other factor that has a tremendous effect on price. That is Fluorescence- and in the case of fluorescence in a Fancy Intense Yellow, it does not matter how the diamond looks- that one aspect will take a huge bite out of the price. In this case, the medium blue fluorescence has virtually no effect on the appearance. But it saves you at least $5000 on the price. That, in spite of the fact it's a VVS1. That, in spite of the fact it's VG on Polish and Symmetry. That, in spite of the fact that the cut is nothing short of amazing. It's got phenomenal sparkle and life. In fact, the cut was one of the things I loved most about the stone, when I first laid eyes on her. The profile and some of the facets remind me of an old mine diamond. You can see why looking at the profile shot below. Small table, high crown- very unusual in a Fancy Intense.
The ring started as a
concept piece. It developed from here- including the decision to make the main
portions of the ring in platinum.

Colorless Fancy Shaped, and
Round Stones selected, and set

As you can see we chose a
border of micro set intense yellows surrounding the now vivid looking center.
In real life it actually enhances the "organic" flow of this floral motif.

Inspired, in large part, by this amazing
diamond. The photos above are ACTUAL Photos and Video of the diamond you will receive. |
