1.15ct Fancy Intense Yellow VS2 Cushion Cut Diamond
This is a "super premium" Fancy Intense Yellow diamond.
Here's how to properly evaluate a GIA Graded Fancy Intense Yellow diamond.
First, you have to look at the diamond. The first, most important aspect is the color.
Generally speaking, poorly cut stones don't broadcast color as well- so actually, the first thing you're looking at is the way the color and cut work together.
If the color is there, you examine the stone more closely to check the finer points of the cut, and also clarity.
Clarity is important- yet not in the the same way it affects value in colorless diamonds- more on that in a minute.
Of course a visible carbon spot, or cloud will decimate value. This diamond is an eye clean VS2.
Last thing to check, if the visuals check out, are the details on the GIA report.
Fluorescence is a biggie, in terms of value.
Faint has little or no impact, but Medium or strong Blue Fluorescence is a detraction to price, and generally appearance, in fancy Intense yellow diamonds.
If Polish or symmetry is less than "Good", that's going to reduce the price.
As long as both of these grades are at least "Good" the color takes precedence.
In fact, in terms of value, color takes precedence over clarity as well.
That is to say, a really strong and pure Intense Yellow VS2 G/G can be worth more than a Fancy Intense Yellow Internally Flawless EX/EX-
If the color of the VS stone is close to Vivid and the color of the IF stone is close to Fancy Yellow, the VS stone can be worth considerably more.
Of course if we are looking at two almost vivid diamonds of equally strong and pure color, one being IF, one VS, the IF will be worth more.
Even a small difference in color would make this stone worth less.

This stone has a remarkable color - so close to Vivid Yellow.
The yellow so pure and true. In terms of intensity, this stone is about a 9.9 on a 1-10 scale where 1 is very close to Fancy Yellow (the next lighter shade) and 10 is Vivid Yellow.
It's just such a great Vivid, I mean Intense Yellow.
We bought two Intense Yellow diamonds today - the other an SI1 was about 20% less costly on a per carat basisIt is a great value, but the two stones are valued at different positions in the grade. The other is a very nice "average" Intense Yellow. Which can mean a diamond is pretty special. This one is exceptional among that limited group.
I prefer a stone like this at a bit of a premium than a dog at a really low price.
It will look amazing once set.
I'd choose SO4066
