1.27ctw Fancy Vivid Yellow I1-2 Round Brilliant Diamonds

When a broker brought me these stones, with no GIA reports, I was POSITIVE they had to be treated. Lo and behold, totally Natural fancy Vivid Yellow, but it is more like super vivid - impossibly canary yellow. The color overshadows almost everything else.

The truth is, the color is a HAM in this regard. Take the cut - that plays an important role in projecting this impossibly Vivid Color in a brilliant manner. One is classified as "Round Brilliant and the other Round Modified Brilliant by GIA. In truth both are cut differently than you would cut a D color, but you do get a lot of the benefits of the brilliance.

In terms of clarity the I1 stone is not really all that "clarity challenged". The stone really sparkles throughout. On the other hand, you can see the imperfection in the I2 pretty easily. However, it is not a black spot, and it does not really compromise the visual impact, or the integrity.

The fact is that the I1 is worth about 75% of the value of the pair, although the pair together is worth about 120% of each stone separately. If that makes sense you need help. Kidding, it probably does make sense. You might guess I stay up late to write sometimes and you would be correct. I get some of my best ideas then.

In the case of stones like these, they really speak for themselves thorough my pictures. However, you really want to know who you are buying your diamonds from.
