TRADE UP SPECIAL Here's what I wrote about this diamond the first time we offered it
2/15/2002- Happy post Valentines Day. If you're lucky ( or unlucky) enough to be in love- well, enjoy yourselves. If not, a diamond like this would surely pick up your spirits! It's been graded by GIA as Y-Z color range- This is considered a natural light yellow diamond. The color grading scale starts at "D". This is the whitest diamond- the one with the least amount of color. When you go all the way down the scale to M-N-O-P- Q-R-S-T. These are really not light yellow diamonds at all. They've got some color- but it's really not distinct. Not so in a Y-Z shade. This diamond is unquestionably a light yellow shade.
I think this guy was unlucky when he visited GIA- This diamond could have easily gotten the next darker grade- Fancy Light Yellow. The grades on the natural fancy colored diamonds are more approximate than the higher color ranges. That is to say: there's a greater range between Y-Z, and Fancy Light Yellow, than between D and E. We could re-submit the stone to GIA for a color re-check- but why bother? If you like it, you can own it at a great price. And once you get it in your hands, I'll refund your money if you don't like it , no matter what the certificate says.
We have a trade up policy. What happens to rings that are traded in? If the ring shows a lot of wear, or was a special order, the ring itself would not be eligible for the trade up- although in such a case, the diamond would be. If the ring is perfect, you'll get the full purchase price- as was the case here. In ANY event- we let people know when an item was a trade in. The loose diamond photos here are from 2002. All the video- and the ring photos ware taken in July 2007- after the ring came back to us. It is in perfect condition. This diamond is cut beautifully. Great thing about a diamond- it's still just as well cut as it was- it still sparkles 100 the way it did the day we sold it. Still, we're not going to sell the ring at full price, because it is a trade up. This fact saves you $1000 on the price of this ring. Most important to us- you are satisfied with your purchase form us.
The Ring We made an absolutely gorgeous ring ( if I do say so me-self). Perfectly fitted brilliant faceted Trapezoids. This is a very solid ring.
In terms of color it's a lovely light lemon yellow. More on this Light Yellow Diamond CLARITY SI1 - Completely eye clean. CUT An awesome example of radiant cut. 64% on a well cut radiant means a lot of size for the weight. This diamond will be mistaken for a 2 carat all the time.. Now that she's set, the yellow color is quite distinct. At 1.83carats she's right close to the 2ct mark. The whole thing is put together just so. It's the remarkable quality of work that allows us to publish these ultra close up photos. | |
