This is a great example of why I love Lab Diamonds.
It's beautifully cut. The "chunky" facets give us large, bright flashes which easily turn into rainbows and fire.
The stone does have some body color. I'd probably grade it K. IGI graded it J color. Either way, the face up doesn't really show a lot of tint.
As you can see in the pics, the slight tint is yellow, which I prefer to many Lab J-K colors I've seen that were kind of gray. But in person, you can't really notice the tint.
Going back to why I love them - a diamond like this for a price like this...love it. Note - IGI classified this stone as "Cushion Modified Brilliant" which is clearly incorrect.
I compared it to item R10291, graded by GIA and classified as "Old Mine Brilliant". The facet pater and design is identical on both stones. Both have 8 Pavilion main facets going directly from the girdle to the culet. I don't get why they misclassified the shape... given that they have the correct plot diagram.
