When it comes to yellow lab diamonds, the challenge is finding stones that are light yellow.
Of course, with natural yellow diamonds, the deeper the color, the higher the value.
Except with lab diamonds, the "yellow" ones are rarely the same color yellow as a natural yellow diamond. This is one of the lighter ones I've seen that has a natural yellow color.
I'd grade this one a strong "Fancy Yellow" bordering on "Fancy Intense Yellow"
I'm referring to GIA grades. IGI, let's give them their due - they do a great job grading colorless lab diamonds. On fancy colors... not so much.
It is too complex and costly to train people in all the potential variations.
They graded the diamond "Fancy Light Yellow"
It's all good cause the stone absolutely rocks.
Beautifully cut.
The ring is such a classic design. Bowed edge trills - platinum shank.
The yellow is cradled securely in an airy 18kt yellow gold setting.
2.2mm solid platinum shank.
