.51ct Fancy Yellow VS1 Cushion Cut Diamond Halo Ring
What's the difference between a radiant and a cushion?
That is a common question consumers ask us. The answer is - the outer edges of a radiant cut are straight, with clipped corners, so it's truly an 8 sided shape. A cushion might be almost oval, or it can also be a straight sided stone with rounded corners, like this stone.
In the case of Fancy Colored Diamonds, the light performance - or sparkle and life - of cushion and radiant cuts are very similar. So the main difference is in the outline of the stone. To add to the confusion, we all refer to certain shapes in a manner GIA does not. For example Radiant - that term is not used in GIA nomenclature of shapes for diamonds. GIA classified the shape of this stone as a "Round Cornered Rectangular Modified Brilliant" diamond. We call it a "Cushion Cut" for the purposes of ease of shopping for y'all.
About this sweet little guy. Nicely cut for a "Cushion" diamond. Sweet color, a true Fancy Yellow about halfway between Fancy Light Yellow and Fancy Intense Yellow. Great clarity.
The Ring
We love to offer quality pieces at affordable prices - this ring is one of those.
The shape of the halo is slightly more rounded than the main stone giving it a lovely soft look. The center diamond shines in this setting.
