.80ct K SI2 Pear Brilliant Diamond Halo Ring
Bow ties are an intriguing aspect of a pear shape diamond. There are quite a massive variety of facet designs that compensate, or eliminate bow ties. Thing is, a bow tie can be a beautiful and essential element of a pear shape diamond.
Here's a stone that does have a bow tie - and it totally works. The light reflected back to your eye from the center of the diamond comes in large "chunky" flashes. While the pointy tip causes the light to bounce around a few times before returning to your eye. So you get a glitter in the center of the diamond, and sparkle at the tip. Add to this a large culet- creating another focal point. The overall effect is enchanting. Oh, and t looks quite large for a .80ct.
The color is K, which is tempered by the Medium Blue Fluorescence. You can see what I'm talking about in the pictures - the diamond does not look yellow.
GIA graded the diamond SI2 clarity - you can actually see the feather in some of these pictures. As luck would have it the feather is in a spot where it's hidden in the sparkle. This feather poses no structural risk whatsoever over the normal risk associated with diamond wear.
Really nice value on a unique diamond.

The Ring
This ring is truly drop dead gorgeous in person. You really need to see it! The halo is massive and the outer edge of it measures 11.5 x 7.7 mm. It will have amazing presence on your hand - looks like 1.5cts.
The pink diamond halo really works with the K colored diamond. The color just works. The tint is there but not totally obvious. The contrast of the pink to the colorless diamonds is lovely as well. This is truly a great value!
