2.29ct Natural Emerald Cut Ruby
This is an exceptional Natural Ruby. You do not have to be any sort of an expert to understand its exceptionalism. The stone takes the smallest amount of light an turns it into a brilliant ruby red flash back to your eye. Oh my goodness! Does it ever flash and keep your eyes glued to it. The material seems so transparent - like a scarlet crystal.
The cutting is really nice. Looks just like you would want an emerald cut to look. The size is significant - by no means huge, or overwhelming, but by no means small.
The Ruby is quite clean - it was examined by GRS Labs which issued a report. The stone is a Natural Ruby, and its origin is Mozambique. Most important - Comment H. Here is the page from GRS website discussing the comments.

H is at the very top - every grade below H has some sort of substance infused into the stone. This is a pure puppy. Aside from the remarkable beauty, this aspect really makes the ruby stand out. Exceptional!

The Ring
After much searching, we found a suitable pair of emerald cuts for the sides of our ruby. We could not find a pair of GIA graded stones on the market, so we purchased these and submitted them to GIA for diamond dossiers- which include laser inscriptions. I knew the stones were blindingly white. No surprise that GIA graded them D.
The fluorescence is special in these stones- back in the day, when I worked at Harry Winston, these would have been called "Premier". They have a slight blueish tinge. This makes them look whiter than white. I can't stop looking at them. They are a stark and vivid contrast to the Pigeon Blood Ruby.
The cut is fantastic on both. They are not 100% identical, but they are very close. In terms of measurements, they are a virtual pair. The facet pattern is slightly different on each, so each has it's own personality. Both are super bright- and "steppy".
Beautifully clear at VS1. Really nicely cut and of a generous proportion with their patron, the amazing ruby.
The ring will be hand forged in all platinum. The stones are perfectly positioned. That's one vital design element overlooked by many makers.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE how the prongs looks on this ring. The shank is beefy where you want it to be- and comfort fit.
