1.60ct W-X VS2 Oval Shape Diamond Ring
Yellow Ovals are pretty rare nowadays. Much of that has to do with the renewed popularity of cushion diamonds. Let's remember that despite fashion, the oval shape itself can be organically pleasing to the eye.
This stone in particular has a very pleasing 1.29:1 length to width ratio. The cutting style is classified as "Oval Modified Brilliant" by GIA. What this means is that the stone has a very lively scintillation patter of thousand of tiny flashes. The cut avoids any significant bow tie and the stone has very nice size for it's weight.
We expected a Y-Z grade from GIA, but in truth, the difference in shade is so minor between W-X to Y-Z that the grades are probably some of the toughest for GIA in terms of consistency from one stone to the next (they probably get more of these colors wrong because they're tougher to grade)
Bottom line is that the stone has a lovely light lemon yellow color. You'd never mistake it for an intense yellow, but then again, you could buy two of these for the price of a single intense.

The Ring
The stone looks positively amazing in this ring. No one would think that this is 'only' a light yellow diamond.
The look was inspired by a ring found in Hollywood and the execution was perfection. Delicate shank set with fancy yellow diamond melee. Beautiful lines with elegant claw shaped prongs.
