Here's a very cool, slightly funky antique diamond. The stone was cleaned up- but we believe it was originally cut about 100 years ago.
We got the diamond from the guy who cleaned it up...he got it from an estate...
We purchased without the GIA and submitted the stone.
I was shocked when I saw the clarity grade... I was expecting SI2, maybe I1. However, you have to take what GIA gives you and move on.
The stone looks amazing to the naked eye. Now that it's set, it looks like a VS with the loupe! Totally eye clean!
You don't notice the color - yet the sparkle and fire are intense - it's a very bright and firey diamond.
