1.13ct F VS1 Pear Shape Diamond

There is really no formula to be able to plug numbers into and determine how well a pear is cut. Selecting the best pear shape takes looking at the stone, and a lot of experience. This diamond is a perfect example. I selected it because it has a lot of strong attributes, but cut is the first thing you notice. The diamond is full of life with total sparkle. Also it looks large. Truly lovely, slightly plump shape.

Although there are sites that claim to have such numbers and formulas, they don't hold up in real life. Some of the diamond cut charts, or pundits, would eliminate or downgrade a pear diamond with 53.6% depth as too shallow. In fact, the depth of this stone is an asset, making it larger with no negative effects.

Actually, the color might be the first thing I noticed. Wow is this thing white! There are zero negative effects due to the fluorescence. If anything, the strong blue fluorescence makes the stone look whiter. At VS1, clearly, the stone is clearly clean.
