1.36ct Y-Z VVS1 Cushion Cut Diamond R9102

It's an interesting debate - feelings versus science.

Take a GIA report- there's no "feeling" on it at all- it's all measurements and classifications which are objectively obtained.

So GIA calls this shape "Cushion Modified Brilliant" - which it is. However, it looks very different from so many other cushion modified brilliants. It's really more of a bowed edge (slightly-off) square.

What a cool look.

The faceting on the bottom gives us a dazzling light show of sparkle. That's why the stone is beautiful, not necessarily because it's a VVS1.

Yet it is indeed, a VVS1 - again, a classification you need a specific device (Gemological Microscope) to categorize.

As far as color, GIA's classification system has some disparities in certain ranges. This stone is light yellow - could be Fancy Light Light Yellow, if it was up to me, which is isn't.

Anyway, a super lovely stone in a desirable carat weight.
