1.52ct Green VS2 Radiant Cut Diamond R8745

Green. Pure Green That is so very rare in diamonds.

This gem does it without smoke an mirrors. There is no Fluorescence - and it's photographed, and videoed loose - so no setting to enhance the green-ness. GIA agreed, grading it a pure' Fancy Green - Natural.

If you're interested- green in diamonds is caused by natural radiation within the earth, during the time they were formed. Of course, there are currently ways of exposing diamonds to radiation to make them green once unearthed. GIA can tell the difference in a percentage of cases.

If GIA can't be sure that the diamond became green naturally, they will call it "Undetermined" When they are certain, as in this case, GIA deems it "Natural" Likely the cutter submitted the rough diamond to GIA and sent it back a few times during cutting to maintain the natural designation.

The color is subtle and beautiful. Green itself is a softer color. The cut is absolutely gorgeous as well. Generous corners and a high crown with a small table. VS2- no clarity issues whatsoever.
