SOLD.....3.06ct Light Yellow SI2 Oval Shape Diamond R9051

Amazing deal on a super well cut, Fancy Light Yellow Oval with strong color- very close to Fancy Yellow.

The reason for the lower price is the SI2 clarity grade.

I agree with the GIA's assessment (not that my opinion means anything)

SI2 gets a very bad rap, primarily due to the "education" on the internet.

Sure, some SI2 diamonds have imperfections that have a noticeably negative impact on the appearance of the diamond. Yet, in other cases, the natural and placement of the imperfections render them invisible to the naked eye.

The main reason for the grade in this stone is a few feathers I highlighted in one of the pics.

There are some other small feathers, but they're hard to see even with a ten power loupe. Without the three areas I point out, the stone would be a VS2.

The highlighted areas in this particular diamond, cause no perceivable negative impact.

The cut is amazing from the standpoints of sparkle, and shape.

So there you have it.

The stone could be flawless, from a visual standpoint, but the cost is nothing like that.....
