When I was growing up in the diamond business, marquise shape was very desirable. But it was so hard to find a well cut Marquise, and people still bought the ugly ones!
Then the cut almost disappeared.
Maybe the difficulty in finding nicely cut Marquise diamonds was part of the decline in popularity the Marquise cut suffered since the '80's.
Now that lab diamonds have become so dominant in the market, it seems like Marquise shape has come back. I can much more easily find a super well cut marquise in pretty much and size.
This one is a HUUUUGE puppy.
The price on Lab diamonds have come to pretty much a settling point.
The price of this stone is remarkable - and there's NOTHING at all wrong with it.
It's been graded H color - yet it faces up colorless.
We did not manufacture the solitaire ring, and we are in admiration of it. Love the design and execution.
