Another "Special" though in this case it was a trade in a few years back - we found this baby sleeping in the back of the safe.

An old "Sam Spade" special, it gives me nostalgia.

We still have an association with Sam - his son runs the businss now. Still gets some great stones.

This is the perfect combination - great cut, great color, lower clarity- but the stones we carfully selected from the "imperfect" (SI2) diamonds.

If a big cutter has 20 carats in a parcel (not uncommon) and you can get them to allow selection, you can pick the eye clean stones- still get a great price.
