1.99cts Colorless and Yellow Pear Shape Diamond Dangle EarringsI am totally crazy about this design. Pear shape diamonds were made for this. Looking at the earrings we get a lesson in just how diamonds sometimes surprise us. Searching through our database of pear shape diamonds we own, I searched for a stone to match the .72ct D/SI2 by measurement. The closest stone was very close in measurement, only .02mm smaller in length and .20mm difference in width. Visually, they are a great match. They’re not a perfect match, nothing is. But a very good one for sure. The second stone weighs .51ct! Who’da thunk it? When designing our jewelry there’s rarely a time we pay attention to the carat weight - we go for perfection in the way a piece looks. If a .51ct stone matches a .72ct stone we’ll use it. Both stones were cut by the same guy - he had one in his vault since the ‘90s. Both are beautifully cut. Okay, so we had our colorless stones, now we needed the contrasting yellows. We stated with the .36ct - a strong Fancy yellow, with a lovely shape. It provides a great contrast with the D colors. Best match? A .40ct Fancy Intense Yellow from our extensive collection was called into action. Again, a really sweet, yet not exact, match. 18karat yellow and white gold crafted into elegant baskets are simply and gracefully joined with the metal.
