1.88ct L VS1 Pear Shape (Antique) Filigree Diamond RingOld diamonds are very popular. Many older stones have been re-cut over the years - in fact, demand outstrips supply. A few select cutters re-create older cuts - some do it very well. With this stone, the goal was to create an antique style pear shape diamond. The cutter did an amazing job doing this. The cutter purposefully went for a "wonky" outline so it looks like an authentic old stone. However, when we turn the diamond over, you can see the modern precision. The color on this stone is a very lovely warm shade - very fitting for an antique style diamond. The clarity is VS1. Suffice it to say, the color is sweet and strong. This cut is amazing in these deeper colors. This is an SI1 that will be eye clean to all folks most of the time. A small percentage of people may be able to see the tiny imperfection in certain lighting at certain angles. The Ring This ring represents an amazing combination of elements. Visually, the design is beautifully complex – almost architectural. Yet, the star of the show is not a very willing player. What I mean to say, is that the ring itself seems perfectly symmetrical, while the diamond it contains is quite asymmetrical. This is done using an artful use of metal which creates an optical illusion - by varying the thickness of the wall of the bezel to perfectly conform with the outline of this slightly irregular pear-shaped diamond – yet maintaining a perfectly symmetrical edge – and emphasizing it with millgrain. The piece is perfectly finished, inside and out. Because there are no holes drilled in the platinum where the diamonds are set into it, the ring is really heavy. It really feels beautiful to the touch. Combined with the center diamond. It's a remarkable piece.. If you like the ring in these photos, you will love it in person - we guarantee it! The photos above are ACTUAL Photos of the diamond ring that you will receive. Guides related to Diamonds How much will my new diamond appraise for? Fancy Colored Diamond Buying Guide
