6.01ct Fancy Dark Brownish Greenish Yellow VS1 Cushion Cut Diamond

This is a massive stone. The color is almost startling. The stone is remarkably vibrant. When the greenish hue does emerge, it's almost like a forest green. Although GIA does not mention the word orange, I see some of that there is well.

When it comes to projecting the color, a yellow diamond and a brown diamond are totally different. With yellow diamonds, the color is pervasive – it is relatively consistent throughout the body of the stone. Pretty much all diamonds that are very deep colored brown have far more inconsistency in their material from the lightest to darkest. Basically, Brown diamonds have a type of grain. This must be oriented properly so that the brown color projects through the face of the diamond. In this case, the cutter did an amazing job.

One of the cool things about it diamond, is that even if it has incredible depth of color, it can still kick back a lot of bright flashes. The stone also looks large for a six carat... that sounds pretty redundant doesn't it?

In this case, we're definitely at 35 to 40% below the price of a Fancy Light Yellow – if that is any sort of fair comparison.
