2.04ct Q-R SI1 Cushion Cut (Antique Style) Diamond

This is a remarkable stone by so many standards. Of course, the cut is the first thing that will make you love this diamond. It has a distinctively antique flair to it, yet it is totally modern at the same time.

The reason is that the basic design goes back more than 100 years. Finding ways to interpret this design utilizing modern technology is not an easy thing to do. Even then, cutting such stones with real personality is even more difficult.

It was hard to capture the diamond with the camera in terms of color. In particular, there are times that this cushion diamond looks kind of yellow in the photos.

Since this diamond was not cut to look more yellow, it is not a branded Diamonds by Lauren diamond. So, although it doesn't look deeply yellow, there is an advantage in the price. It really does cost more to cut them to spec.

For that reason, this stone is a bargain for someone looking to get the quality of a modern vintage cut, in a two carat size. Even though it wasn't cut to look yellow, it was cut to look beautiful. Successfully I might add.

In terms of clarity, GIA graded the diamond SI1-which is what we anticipated. It is a very good SI one clarity, you can see the imperfection in some of the photos – but it's very difficult to see it, if at all possible in real life.

Finally, how could I forget one of the best things about the cut of this diamond: based on the face up size, if you told me it was 3 carats, I would believe you. The thing is extremely huge for its weight!

The Ring

This is a breathtaking piece.

The diamond has come to life.

Now that she's set, this Q-R color is showing yellow much more distinctly. The ring and stone seem absolutely perfect for each other.

You can totally appreciate the wonderful optical characteristics of the stone in this setting

The ring is magnificent - a gorgeous hand forged split shank halo ring, done by one of the finest shops in the world, our "Uber" guys.

The detail work and impeccable finishing make a big difference. They affect how the ring feels, so even if one does not understand the finer points, they'll "get it" when they touch this piece.

We back up the jewelry we sell - if the ring ever needs anything, the same people that made it will take care of it.

The photos above are ACTUAL Photos of the diamond ring you will receive.
