Orange Diamonds?
When we're talking about rare natural diamonds, the color orange is way up there. A Vivid Orange Diamond can easily cost $100,000 in a one carat size. What saves this one from that type of stratospheric price is the fact that it's primarily yellow with a health dollop of Orangy Goodness. The
diamond is incredibly lively for a stone with such a deep color. This is
partially due to the lovely cut. GIA graded the diamond Very Good on both the
Polish and Symmetry. This alone does not tell you that a diamond is well cut,
but it's a good thing nonetheless.
The
diamond is very close to square.
Grading
Clarity
GIA graded the clarity as SI2, and of course, we respect their decision. It's important to remember that when judging a diamond for clarity, there an infinite range of possibilities. One diamond might have be totally clean, except for a tiny carbon spot. Let's say GIA would grade this hypothetical diamond VVS1. Now let's imagine that the carbon spot was more sizable. Still not large, we're talking a small point- but maybe now it looks like it was made with a magic marker, as opposed to a super sharp pencil. That one might be an SI2. Another possible scenario would be two or more of the tiny type of pinpoint. That's the case here. You can see a bunch of little specks in some of these ultra close up photos. There's no measurable effect on the overall brilliance of the stone. Due to the color and sparkle, there's no way to see this stuff naked eye.
The color will keep you coming back.
Strong Yellow Fluorescence This is a rare characteristic in diamonds. You can see it in the video below. It's very difficult to see this unless the diamond is in the dark, and exposed to an ultra violet light, as in the video- or possibly a skating rink The 1.16 s on the right for most of the movie, until the very last shot, where it it on the left.
