In general, brown diamonds are among the lowest priced diamonds - fancy colored - and colorless diamonds as well. However, there are always exceptions.
This stone is primarily yellow, but there is a brown component. We have seen less costly 2ct brown stones - and frequently. This particular diamond has aspects that just make it more valuable. Both the color, and the cut are exceptional.
In terms of color, there's brown, and of course yellow. And like a palette where you combine the two colors, you get all kinds of combinations, and not so much of either pure color. I see orange, and maybe a bit of rosiness. I find the color to be very attractive, though hard to describe.... HONEY- that's it! Kind of like the color of honey (sounds like a movie).
Then there's the cut - nothing short of amazing. The diamond is massive for its weight (generally not a bad thing). Really nice Pear Brilliant light performance. No negative bow tie. Lots of sparkle and color.
In closing, it's not the cheapest brown but it's also a lot less than a nice colorless - or pure yellow pear, and none are prettier.
