Fancy Light Yellow Radiant Diamond
Here's a beautiful Radiant Diamond. It's a square radiant- Radiant Cut Diamonds come in square, and rectangular shapes. I consider this a very well cut diamond. Remember, GIA or AGS do NOT grade the cutting quality of anything other than a round diamond. Any website or seller that is giving fancy shaped diamonds a "cut grade" is simply doing it themselves- in many cases, arbitrarily. There's nothing wrong with a seller giving a personal opinion- in fact, it's a big plus if an actual person who is knowledgeable looks at the diamond, and gives an opinion. But calling that opinion a name like "Ideal" is misleading. The term "Ideal cut" refers specifically to a stone graded by AGS lab, possessing a 0 cut grade. AGS primarily grades Round Brilliant Diamonds. They issue cut grades on round and princess cut diamonds only. So even if there were a radiant like this one with an AGS report, it would not have a cut grade. Sorry to get up on a soapbox, but remember the important part: There's tons of sites selling off of lists. These lists offer cut grading on diamonds they've never even seen. As dealers, we have to assume they know full well the diamond industry does not assign the name "ideal" to a fancy shape ( other than Princess cut AGS).
I consider this an extremely well cut diamond. I say this because the shape and proportions are pleasing to the eye. The stone's brilliance is outstanding- even in the dimmest of lighting conditions. The cutter crafted a gorgeous piece of work here- many people will ask if it's 4 carats. Ideal? Well, if we go back to those sites selling off of lists., you have to take their word for it. With us, you can at least look at hi res photos and videos to get a good idea- then judge for yourself once it arrives at your door. If you want to call this stone ideal, be my guest. You're not a dealer and can call it whatever you want!
In terms of clarity, I'd have to grade this diamond I1. I could make a great case for an SI3 grade here- as the imperfections are not all that noticeable in person. These are all contained within the diamond and pose no durability issues whatsoever. The stone is prices approximately four thousand dollars less than if it was VS
The color grade, Fancy Light Yellow, is a one loved by many. It's a "Canary Lite" diamonds. Less calories...err, I meant dollars.... As you can see from the pics, the color is all there. Diamond Color Chart for Yellow diamonds
