.69ct Fancy Deep Yellow I1 Cushion Cut Diamond

Here's a very cool and unusual diamond. The very strong yellow fluorescence makes it look exactly like Kryptonite. It's not, of course, so if you ever actually encounter Superman, no worries.

Seriously, I was surprised when GIA graded the diamond "Fancy Deep Yellow" with no modifiers. I don't know exactly what I'd call the color (for those unfamiliar with Kryptonite). Have you ever seen anti freeze?

This is a diamond where the fluorescence is so intertwined with the color, it alters the basic body color no matter which lighting you're under. It is slightly hazy. Not enough so that there's no brilliance, but it's a little "sleepy". You can see this in the photos. In normal room lighting, no sun, it looks kind of greenish. However, even a little sun sets off a dramatic reaction. Neon diamond. Kewl Beans.

So it is an I1.There's a few boogers which are really no issue visually - the color itself is the star of the show and it totally hides the I1 clarity.

Really nicely cut with almost an antique vibe under the loupe. Hard to call it vintage without the loupe.

We picked it out of a cutter's parcel crazy cheap. Pass along the savings, that's what we say!
