When people speak about chameleon diamonds, it's important to remember the change is not "dramatic"- but it is noticeable. This one goes from dark green to a lighter green with more yellow in it.

To get the photo array above I used a metal scoop and a Bic Lighter. Diamonds are amazing in their ability to transmit heat. Put it this way, I got a few burns ( not severe) getting these pictures. I took a few photos- a moment had elapsed, I was sure the diamond had cooler. WRONG. The diamond was hot, I  picked it up...ouch!

Then I dropped it on my leg after heating it...oooch.

But I got the photos!

All you have to do is take it out first thing in the morning, and it starts out dark green, then gets more yellow as it's exposed to the light.

The photos were taken with a macro lens in fairly bright lighting- making the imperfection easy to see. Not so in person naked eye. The color of the stone makes it difficult- if not impossible- to see.

 The photos above were taken right after it came out for the first time after being kept in the dark for a few days. Below it has already picked up it's yellow after about 20 minutes out. Overall the stone has a fairly deep greenish color.

The Ring

Now that it's set, the stone has a dramatic, olive green color. Also it's totally eye clean in the setting. I love this ring- classic baguettes with a a totally "out there" center diamond. The contrast is striking. We used bold baguettes- nice and thick. large enough for their personality- much like an emerald cut- to shine through. The super high color and clarity don't hurt.

The construction is impeccable- platinum and 18karat yellow gold seamlessly blended. The finish is meticulous. A ring made for a lifetime of wear.
