Round diamonds are not usually seen in natural yellow colors. Ever wonder why? It has to do with the cut of a diamond. Generally the cut of a round diamond is designed for white light- to make the diamond look as white as possible. ON GIA reports for round diamonds between D and Z color, GIA has been issuing a "Cut Grade, since 2006. This diamond was graded "Very Good" as the cut grade- one tick down from the top grade, Excellent. The reasons for the downgrade will be totally impossible for you to see with the naked eye- in fact, this diamond is as well cut to my eye, as many stones that have gotten "EX" cut grade from GIA.
This diamond is obviously yellow. The cutter must have been quite peeved when GIA did not give the diamond one grade darker ( Fancy Light Yellow)- because it looks like it could have gotten that grade.
GIA graded the diamond VS2- it's totally eye clean
