Nope, it's not a ruby- it's a red diamond!

Rare as chicken's tooth, here's a Natural Fancy Purplish Red Diamond. The purple aspect does make it more..... affordable, if that's the right word to use for a red diamond of this price.

A "Fancy Red" GIA graded diamond of this size could fetch another $50k

Although the color is incredibly deep, the grade is 'Fancy"- as opposed to Fancy Intense, Fancy Vivid, or Fancy Deep- that's because red- and purplish red are so rare, they get their own category.

If you think about it, lighter shades of ring would have to be pink - so to get "red" from GIA- it's already gone "past pink"

Also amazing is how a stone with such depth of color can have so much brilliance.
