He is a cutter who sources much of the rough at the actual mines. This means we get accurate origin info as well as if a stone was treated or not. This is an amazing Malaya Garnet. This stone was bought rough in Tanzania - mined in the area where Umbra Sapphires come from. This stone was beautifully cut by Roger. He picked the perfect shape for the burnt orange color. It almost looks as if this stone is literally on fire. The Ring The ring is a classic split shank halo setting and is perfect for this garnet. The halo really helps to accentuate the shape of the Malaya Garnet and add even more visual appeal. This is not a dainty ring - truly a statement ring - yet the setting is very feminine in feel.
