1.09ct Fancy Orange-Brown VS1 Hexagonal Step Cut Mens Diamond Ring

Ladies and Gentlemen, from the weird and wacky diamond files, it gives me the greatest of pleasure to introduce R4209: 1.09 carat hexagonal step cut diamond. Graded Fancy Orange Brown/VS1 by GIA laboratories.

I have to compare it closest to a rose cut diamond. But the glitter is totally unique. The diamond has great color. Whether you set it the largest table up, or the extremely large culet set in the face up position. I could see it being set that way. In fact, now that I'm looking at it more closely. The diamond has a lot more color if you are looking at it through the culet side. At this point I'm rethinking the way this diamond is cut, and took the following photos below from the bottom. All of a sudden the incredible orange brown color is exploding. You can see it a lot better.

Basically, instead of thinking of that 64% table at the top of the diamond, we flip it over the culet occupies, I would estimate, about 45% of the diamond – making it in some way look like a vintage cut. Very cool.

The Ring

This is, in my opinion, a phenomenal use of this unique diamond. It is a total one of a kind. The ring is masculine. Smooth. Lithe. When you put it on, it immediately feels comfortable it settles right in.

I do admit I love it myself.

We're looking at 10.54 grams of 18kt pink gold. The ring is completely solid till it gets to the top. There, we carved out space to set the diamond and allow a little air to your finger- The small space is enclosed by a pink gold latticework, which is, in my opinion, quite attractively done. The pattern even matches the shape of the diamond.
