Normally, when I see you Diamond that has a GIA "color origin" report, I am suspicious.

Actually, suspicious is the wrong word, because if I'm looking at the diamond that someone is showing me, they had to pass a lot of tests just to get into our office.

More accurate- if there's a half report, I want to know why.

Sometimes this involves a guessing game. Is it the clarity, is that the fluorescence? In this case, I know the reason.

Price.

We have a friend that goes overseas to find bargains on a regular basis. He came back with a very pretty for four stone parcel. None of them have GIA reports – all very reasonably priced.

All more interesting colors.

By opting for the half reports, he saved about $200 on the four stones. I do not agree with this decision but there you have it.

This .49ct round is a really cool stone. The fact that GIA identified pinkish as part of its color is, of course, a huge attraction.

I believe the stone will show its color once it's properly set. The clarity of the stone is pretty much Eye clean.

It is not exactly cut like you would expect of a colorless round brilliant diamond, but it all works together with a lot of nice sparkle. Also, it shows it's size very well.
