2.26ct Pink-Purple Emerald Cut Sapphire and Diamond Ring

We are now working with master gemstone cutter Roger Dery. This is a precision cut stone, cut by Roger. He is a cutter who sources much of the rough at the actual mines. This means we get accurate origin info as well as if a stone was treated or not.

Here is an amazing sapphire. The first thing I notice about this stone is how crystal clear it is. I'm not speaking of the color, which is beautiful, but how transparent this stone is. The stone has some sort of natural inclusion deep within it which is visible in the high resolution close-ups at around three o'clock at the edge on the right. In person, it is possible to see this with a jewelers loupe in certain lighting. However, it is impossible to notice this with the naked eye. Remember, the photos are taken at high magnification to allow you to see such defects. Sometimes defects the eye cannot see.

The stone is natural, though it has been heated.

The Ring

We have crafted a gorgeous handcrafted 18 karat white gold setting for the sapphire. This ring has really helped the color of the sapphire. The purple is so beautiful and so apparent. Lilac, violet, fuchsia, of course is over the pinkish in there…

To complement the stone, I chose a lovely pair of ivory white triangular brilliant cut diamonds. They have great wife and sparkle. It's only in certain lighting that you can even notice the ivory aspect. Of course, there is a negative aspect – however it is to the price. They are saving you about $1000 over the cost of a pair of E to F color triangular brilliant cut diamonds. Sweet ring.
