1.08ct O-P SI2 Cushion Cut Diamond Halo Ring

We recently bought a five stone parcel or really well cut, light yellow diamonds. There were 8 in the lot, which he cutter wanted to sell as a whole.

We were able to finagle a deal that yielded us the five stones I really loved. I expected a darker grade on this stone - it has a lot of color.

I absolutely fell in love with the cut the first time I saw it. Great shape and sparkle- nice size for the weight.

Yes, expected the SI2 grade. However, this is just another example of how clarity grades are not indicative of overall diamond brilliance, or quality.

Some SI2 diamonds are horrible, at least one of the three stones we rejected was VS1 or better clarity.

You cannot buy based on clarity grade alone. That is to say- it does not make sense to eliminate contenders simply due to their SI1 or Si2 clarity when you are searching for a Fancy Colored Diamond, or a light Fancy Colored Diamond. It is easy to eliminate a diamond from contention due to poor clarity once you look at it. But like me, you may prefer a given SI2 to another ainternaly Flawless.

If an SI2 is totally eye clean, and exhibits no other negative aspects due to the characteristics that caused the clarity grade, it can be far more attractive than an Internally Flawless. For reasons aside from clarity.

This is a great value in a lovely diamond.

The Ring

All the pink diamonds we use are natural and very nice. These are extra special. Truth be told, our cutter did not have our normal Fancy Pink SI grade stones. So we upgraded to a parcel that Fancy Intense Pink. About 70% are VS and 30% are SI. The brilliance is also excellent, which allows you to enjoy all that
