1.55ct Fancy Light Yellow SI1 Princess Cut Diamond

I love this cut - it is a kind of hybrid princess/radiant/cushion cut. GIA calls it a "Modified Square Brilliant", which is exactly what it calls a traditional princess cut diamond. The reason I call it a hybrid s that it has the light performance of a well cut radiant diamond. It has the bowed edges of a cushion, and the corners of a princess cut. The small table gives it a lot of really bright flashes. I love this cut in a three stone ring, or a halo.

Clarity: perfectly eye clean SI1. If you look t the GIA plot, you'll see about 6 tiny marks. This is a very good thing. Sometimes a single SI1 imperfection can be large enough to see naked eye. In this case,the grade is due to all these teeny weeny little imperfections. Result is a totally eye clean SI1.

What is noticeable to the naked eye is the strong color. The stone is much closer to Fancy Yellow than Y-Z.
