Stones like this are getting about impossible to find. As the high end Fifth Avenue stores move "down-market" and begin carrying Fancy Light Yellow Diamonds, where they used to only carry Intense Yellow, the lighter yellows have become far more "mainstream"

Basically what that means is that sellers and sites that are not all that interested in honest and direct representation are buying stones like this, setting them and submitting to lesser labs- that will gladly grade them Fancy Yellow.

Personally, I think it is a crime, but of course it's not really against the law.

It does mean there is more competition to buy such stones, and we all know what that does to the price.

Luckily, our relationships with some of the world's largest cutters of such stones is strong - so we still get first show at some of the nicest ones.

This is a perfect example.

A strong W-X color, it will look like a Fancy Yellow when we're done setting it.

VVS1 in clarity - a tiny hair way from Internally Flawless.

VG/VG in symmetry and polish, very rare on a cushion of this sort.

Of course the GIA grades for polish and symmetry don;t rally tell us how well a diamond is cut.

This one is amazing, when it comes to cut.

First of all, it looks like many 4ct Cushions you will see, and it does this with ZERO penalty in terms of sparkle and liveliness.

This diamond is remarkably bright.

The Ring

Now that this stone is set, you would have a hard time believing it is not a Fancy Yellow diamond!

Gorgeous claw prongs and lovely scalloped side of the shank are the hallmarks of our incredible Uber halo rings.
