Here is the newest batch of Diam0onds by Lauren Old Mine Brilliant Diamonds - and this time the cutter really went over the edge, at my request, to find some truly wild colors. The rough was purchased for us in a lot - meaning one price for all. Then cutter did his magic. This means we have the privilege of putting our name on stones that are among the world’s finest cut - rivaling any old mine brilliant diamonds on the market today. It also means we need to polish away a lot more of the diamond than other well cut cushion, and radiant diamonds. We also gladly accept the fact that the labor to cut such stones is far more dear than even well cut radiant or cushions on the market.

We are normally a big proponenet of GIA. Not that we are changing that, but I do have to admit, I was very disappointed when I saw how GIA graded this diamond. We could send it back for a re-check - however in my opinion it is the incredibly unique nature of these stones that makes the grading so difficult. There is simply no frame of reference. The bottom line works in your favor here - the word pink on the GIA report would have doubled the value.

I see purple, pink, brown as well. It is a remarkable diamond in terms of light performance as well.

the cutter adjusted each stone based on the type of color. You might notice more of a "Maltese Cross" in this stone because it has been designed to bring out white light - in this case brown light - but the idea is a different concept as compared to the stones from the collection cut specifically to maximize the perceived color.
