This is a really well cut oval, in the "traditional" sense.

Here is what I mean: the most obvious thing is the outline. In this regard, the stone has a very organic shape, not a straight line on the profile.

Possibly more important is the fact that it is cut like a traditional round brilliant diamond, and GIA graded the oval 'brilliant'. As opposed to 'oval modified brilliant'. In this case, some clever usage of facets on the bottom of the diamond render the bow tie to be an attractive characteristic of the cut. More often than not, it is flashing bright rather than dark.

This diamond represents great value for someone who likes the unusual and the stone that will turn blue on command. How can you go wrong?
