This is an "ultra premium" Canary diamond by any standard. Yes, I love the fact that it's a VVS1-it certainly does make the diamond even more desirable. But it's the amazing lemon yellow color that makes the stone so magnetic in my eyes.
You can probably get a sense of the difficulty in photographing these diamonds, by virtue of the fact that of all these photos has a slightly different shade. The reason for this is the way the light was striking the diamond at the exact instant that the camera shutter snapped
What other factors will affect the way a diamond
looks? Probably the most important factor when taking photos like these, is the quality and quantity of light, and the angle from which it hits the diamond.
My goal always in taking these photos is to represent the diamonds as accurately as possible. I want you to be very happy when you see the thing in person, as compared to the photos.
I don't want the photos to make it look too good, or too bad- I want them to make it look
the way the diamond looks in person. Now that set into a ring, it looks yellower
still!
