This ring features two lovely Old European Cut Diamonds. The stones are remarkably well matched- and both have all the qualities that make this such a desirable cut. The chunky flashes of light are abundant. We estimate the weight of the two stones .80carats Even though they appear to be older stones, they are in perfect condition. There's no abrasion whatsoever on the facet lines. The stones are quite colorless.
The ring is also artful and sublime in it's beauty. There are 18 diamonds of sizes ranging from .01-.05cts. These are also older cut diamonds. Some of them are single cut diamonds. The filigree work is ultra clean - impressive.
The smaller stones on the ring are "Single Cuts". Today, with modern cutting factories all over the world capable of fully faceting even the smallest diamond, single cuts are seldom seen. IN the trade, single cuts are referred to as 8/8.
The combination of filigree and single cut diamonds produces a glitter that is completely different from the modern rings you see. Elegant and lovely.
